Thinking of Having Counselling?

Let me tell you how it works and what to expect.

I have a safe, confidential, comfortable, peaceful office in Littlehampton town centre. Our first meeting will be a 30 minute initial meeting and this is a time for me to ask you a few questions, and for you to find out whether you feel comfortable with me and if the way I work suits you. It’s also a chance for me to explain about things like confidentiality, cost, number of sessions, and how I can help you. We can then find a time slot and book some weekly sessions.

I understand that making contact with a counsellor and meeting me for the first time can feel scary. You might not know what to say or how to explain what’s going on for you. Please don’t worry. Our first meeting will be very informal and I will be able to help you get to the bottom of what’s troubling you.

Some clients want to focus on a certain problem or situation and once this has changed they want to stop having counselling, which is fine. Others might be struggling with difficulties from childhood or a traumatic event and they want to explore that and go deeper, in which case the work can be more longer term until they feel stronger.

Some clients want to talk things through and understand what’s happened to them, and others might want to learn to communicate better and learn how to deal with the emotions that are causing them problems.

I can offer general counselling for most difficulties and I also have experience, specialist training and interest in: addiction, substance abuse, rape and sexual abuse, emotional abuse, boundary setting, and understanding manipulative behaviour. I have a special interest in narcissistic abuse and helping people recognize the signs and tactics of manipulative behaviour in others in order to protect themselves from abuse. I am also passionate about empowering people to discover their true identities, take ownership of their lives, and identify any destructive or toxic relationship patterns that might be preventing you from truly enjoying your life.

Other areas I have experience of working with are: anxiety, carer support, confidence building, dementia, depression, family issues, loss, low self esteem, panic attacks, passive aggressive behaviours, postnatal depression, PTSD, relationships, shame, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma.

My fees are £35 per 1 hour session, payable by cash or bank transfer. The first initial meeting is £15.

If this sounds good to you, then email, text, message or call me and we can meet for an initial meeting and take it from there.

    Hi Melody
I have been given your details by my sister in law Sue Watson. She suggested you to me, as someone who might be able to help me through a tricky patch in my life.
Last year my 30 year old brother took his own life, quite unexpectedly.
is there any possible dates that I could meet you?
    Many thanks
    Cath Watson
